Europa is a astronomical anomaly. Known by Nasa as the "ping-pong ball" planet, it is the only celestial body in our solar system that shows absolutely no craters or signs of scarring by asteroid impacts. Nearly 600,000 miles from earth, and well within the deadly Van Allen belt of Magnetic radiation from Jupiter, it is unlikely that man will ever set foot on this frozen moon. Europa is a planet-wide ocean, thought to be 50 miles deep. It shows slight stress lines, which suggest that it still has a liquid interior underneath the thick layer of ice. The most enlightened scientists of earth - strongly believe that Europa is one of our best bets for finding life within our solar system.

Perhaps one day, automated drill probes
may reveal the truth - but even our own oceans still hold
the greatest mysteries to undiscovered life-forms...
